"Celestial Bodies"
In no sense is the moon a nighttime thing.
Except only this:
We care less for beauty than for the source of light.
During the day we care only for the sun
But at night, the moon's softer glow holds sway.
It is a fact that the moon comes out at night.
But it is a fact about us, not about the sky.
The worship of power, the triumph of youth
The way love fades away when sex recedes:
The fault, dear Brutus . . .
