Sic Transit

The train cars brighten twice as they go around the bend,
Which seems wrong. Shouldn't there be some unique angle
At which they catch the sun?
But by the time I start setting up the math problem in my head
The last car is gone. I thought I had more time
To match theory to fact I thought I had longer
To gather my thoughts
But the train has moved on.
